This Mother’s Day, we want to honor all of the amazing moms and get to know a couple of them a little better. We interviewed 2 of our wonderful VIVA moms to get their perspectives on this fun ride we call parenthood. First, enjoy our interview with Irma!
Q: What is the most rewarding thing about being a mom?
A. Being envied for having the privilege of raising and caring for two perfect boys “one normal and one with special needs”.
Q: What is the best advice your own mom gave you?
A: Love equally and unconditionally. Always have patience!
Q: What advice would you give to a new mom?
A: Appreciate the little miracles in life that others take for granted! Take one day at a time and take it positively. You don’t have control over the future, but you do have control over today.
Q: What is your best advice for maintaining work/motherhood balance?
A: Stop and smell the roses! Keep a sense of humor! Don’t focus on what needs to be done, but what you have accomplished. Remind myself every morning “Happiness is free, and easy!”
Q: What are your biggest Mom challenges?
A: “I can’t be super-mom 24 hours a day.” To answer to only my conscience, that I don’t need to justify my actions to anyone!
Q: What does your child/ren do to make you laugh?
A: Just to see how happy they are and the smile they give me when they see me
Q: This mother’s day, I want….
A: To be with my boys relaxing at home!
Q: How do you take care of yourself?
A: Girl time, massages and pedicures!
And now to hear from another one of our inspiring VIVA moms, here’s our interview with Christie Almand.
Q: What is the most rewarding thing about being a mom?
A: Hard to answer this one. There is so much but I guess I would say the most rewarding would be seeing how God is using each child in different ways.
Q: What is the best advice your own mom gave you?
A: It wasn’t in words but she told us she loved us every day.
Q: What advice would you give to a new mom?
A; The seasons are short enjoy them.
Q: What are your biggest Mom challenges?
A: Balancing older children with younger children with special needs.
Q: What does your child/ren do to make you laugh?
A: They are just always cracking jokes.
Q: Fill in the blank. This mother’s day, I want
A: chocolate covered strawberries
Q: How do you take care of yourself?
A: Try to exercise a few days a week.
Thank you ladies for giving us a little insight into what motherhood means to you! We think you are doing a fantastic job raising those little sweeties and love being able to help take care of them too. Hope you have a happy Mother’s Day!
