May 2025
We put our heart in everything we do.

Who is Your Super Hero?
Some of my fondest memories from childhood involved superheroes of some kind. My friends and I always tried to dress like our favorites, from Flash to Superman, Batman to the Daredevil. We could spend hours running faster and jumping higher than humanly possible.
Our Grandparents
We may have taken for granted the influence our grandparents had, but it was likely deep and meaningful. If you were fortunate enough to share precious moments with them, they probably shared a lifetime of wisdom, caring, and important insights, that put items of importance in the proper order. Knowledge without wisdom has no meaningful application.
Our Parents
Parenthood is probably the most meaningful, but challenging job any of us will ever have. My own parents were constantly trying to mold my decisions and direct my paths. It is tragic how stubborn I could be at ignoring their wisdom. My parents were always there to support me regardless, and it goes without saying, there for physical and emotional trials.
Our Children
There is no greater joy than the births of our children. They are gifts from our Creator, to last for our lifetimes. Although we start out trying to teach them the paths to a fulfilling life, they teach us to love unconditionally. Our kids want to be just like us. They always melt my heart.
Our Nurses
According to the American Nurses Association (ANA), there are around 3.1 million registered nurses in the United States, with 2.4 million actively employed. As the largest occupation in health care, nurses are integral to hospitals, clinics and other health care organizations around the nation. Each year in America, nurses are honored during National Nurses Week. This celebration is held May 6-12, honoring the contributions nurses make to the communities and the field of healthcare.
Spending any amount of time observing our VIVA Nurses fulfilling their tasks of care and love for our patients, we can’t help but be inspired. Celebrating “Nurse Appreciation Week” takes on new meaning as we realize how demanding their jobs are.

National Speech-Language-Hearing Month

May Wellness Tips
🌸 May Wellness Tips: A Month to Refresh, Recharge & Celebrate 🌸
May is a beautiful time of year—flowers are blooming, the days are getting longer, and there’s a renewed sense of energy in the air. It’s also a month full of meaningful celebrations like Mother’s Day and National Nurses Week, giving us even more reason to slow down and show appreciation—to others and ourselves.
In honor of this season of growth and gratitude, we’re sharing a few simple wellness tips to help you stay grounded, refreshed, and inspired throughout the month
🌿 1. Take Time to Breathe
Even five minutes of intentional breathing can lower stress and increase focus. Try the 4-7-8 method: Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7, exhale for 8. Do this in the morning or during a break to reset your mind.
🌞 2. Soak Up Some Sun
Sunshine does wonders for your mood and vitamin D levels. Step outside for a short walk or enjoy your lunch outdoors when possible—just don’t forget your SPF!
💐 3. Celebrate the Caregivers
This month, we honor nurses and mothers—two roles filled with compassion and strength. If you are one, thank you! If you know one, take a moment to express appreciation—it can make someone’s day.
🫶 4. Practice “Mini Self-Care” Moments
You don’t need a spa day to recharge. Try a 10-minute stretch, sip tea in silence, journal a gratitude list, or listen to a favorite song. Small acts add up to big wellness wins.
🌼 5. Spring Clean Your Space—& Your Mind
Decluttering your workspace or home can boost mental clarity. Donate items you no longer need and take time to reflect: What can I let go of mentally or emotionally this month?
Remember, wellness isn't about perfection, it's about progress and presence. Let May be a gentle remind to pause, care for yourself, and enjoy the beauty around you.
Here’s to a mindful, healthy, and heart-filled month!
