Hello Summer

Fun in the Sun

Mid- Year Momentum

With the first half of the year closed out, Summer is a great time to reset and welcome new challenges and take inventory of where we are with our yearly goals. Let's celebrate all we've done thus far and continue work towards our goals.

Summer Wellness

Longer days make summer the perfect time to focus on wellness. Remember to stay hydrated, take short breaks throughout the day, and enjoy some fresh air when you can! As temperature's rise, so do UV levels, even on cloudy days. Protect yourself by applying broad spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher), wearing sunglasses and a hat, and reapplying sunscreen every 2 hours when spending the day outdoors. These simple things can keep your skin healthy all summer long.

PPECC UPDATE

We are excited to say that our new PPECCs in The Colony as well as in Hurst have started taking patients. We are hiring and accepting new patients. Please spread the word about our amazing PPECC facilities!

PPECCs (Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Centers) provide skilled nursing care in a safe, nurturing, and developmentally supportive setting during the day. These new centers reflect our continued commitment to expanding access to high-quality pediatric care while giving families more options closer to home.

We can’t wait to welcome new families, build strong care teams, and create spaces where children can receive the medical care they need while still getting to be kids.

National Cleft & Craniofacial Awareness Month

Supporting Every Child's Journey

Each July, we recognize National Cleft and Craniofacial Awareness month. This is a time dedicated to raising awareness, promoting early intervention, and celebrating the strength and resilience of children born with cleft lip, cleft palate, and other craniofacial differences.

Cleft and craniofacial conditions are among the most common birth differences, affecting thousands of children each year. While every child's journey and needs are unique, early access to specialized care, therapy services, and family support can make a world of difference in their growth, development, and quality of life.

The Importance of Early Intervention

Early intervention plays a vital role in helping children reach developmental milestones. Depending on each child's individual needs, services could include:

  • Speech therapy to support communication and feeding skills
  • Occupational therapy to promote developmental independence
  • Physical therapy to improve strength, posture, and motor development
  • Skilled nursing to assist with any complex medical needs
  • Ongoing coordination with pediatric specialists and multidisciplinary care teams

Providing services in familiar environments, such as the home or PPECC helps children practice skills in their daily routines while encouraging families to actively support their care.

How We Support Families

As a pediatric home health, therapy, and Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Center (PPECC) provider, we understand that caring for a child with a craniofacial condition extends beyond medical appointments.

Our compassionate team works alongside families to provide individualized care plans that may include:

  • Skilled pediatric nursing
  • Speech, occupational, and physical therapy
  • Feeding and swallowing support
  • Developmental monitoring and coordination of care
  • Social interaction and therapeutic activities within our PPECC program when appropriate

Our goal is to help every child build confidence, achieve meaningful milestones, and enjoy the highest possible quality of life while supporting families throughout their journey.
